CUERO, Texas — Phylis Canion lived in Africa for four
years. She's been a hunter all her life and has the mounted heads of a
zebra and other exotic animals in her house to prove it. But the
roadkill she found last month outside her ranch was a new one even for
her, worth putting in a freezer hidden from curious onlookers: Canion
believes she may have the head of the mythical, bloodsucking chupacabra.
"It is one ugly creature," Canion said, holding the head of the mammal,
which has big ears, large fanged teeth and grayish-blue, mostly hairless
skin. Canion...

Some lady in Texas found this creature dead near her
ranch. She doesn't know what it is and is calling it a "Chupacabra." The
head looks like some sort of dog, but the body resembles a boar. The
weird thing is it's got very little hair and dark, wrinkly skin. Any
ideas just what this strange thing is? (It's ugly--could be a campaign
worker for Hillary)

SAN FRANCISCO - The Bush administration can go ahead
with a pilot program to allow as many as 100 Mexican trucking companies
to freely haul their cargo anywhere within the U.S. for the next year, a
federal appeals court ruled Friday. The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of
Appeals denied a request made by the Teamsters union, the Sierra Club
and the nonprofit Public Citizen to halt the program. The appeals court
ruled the groups have not satisfied the legal requirements to
immediately stop what the government is calling a "demonstration
project," but can continue to argue their case. The trucking...

One week after Chile’s Armed Forces released photos and
videos of UFO activity around the country, Chile’s mainstream media has
once again gone extraterrestrial with various Chupacabra sightings
reported throughout the country. Chupacabra – literally translated as
goat sucker – is the name for a mythical creature known for sucking the
blood out of farm animals throughout Latin America and the southern
United States. Many enthusiasts speculate that Chupacabras are aliens –
or escaped alien pets – as evidence of the creature is frequently
reported in tandem with nearby UFO sightings. While UFO activity is
typically reserved for Chile’s tabloid...

Cambodia's National Animal Never Existed, Scientists Say
Nicholas Bakalar for National Geographic News November 3, 2006 The
national animal of Cambodia probably never really existed, a team of
researchers says, at least in the scientific sense. Since 1960 the
Southeast Asian nation has claimed the kouprey—an ox with spectacular
crescent-shaped horns and a dewlap under its chin—as its national
symbol. But after conducting genetic tests, a team of researchers from
Chicago's Northwestern University has concluded that the animal was most
probably not a unique species at all. The researchers, led by
Northwestern biologist Gary J. Galbreath, sequenced the genes of...

The economy's growth has never before been so driven by
real estate. Now that engine is sputtering. Jiany Massad isn't quite
ready to throw in the towel on his fledgling career as a Miami
real-estate tycoon. But if the local housing market continues to head
south, the 30-year-old real-estate broker is already making alternate
plans. "I might restart my old business," he says of a home decorating
company that specialized in high-end window treatments. "At least it's
real-estate-related." With home sales down by nearly a third in Florida
last quarter, thousands of those who hoped to cash in on the...

When Jesus was living, he did not align himself with the
Jewish religious parties, then called Saducees and Pharisees, nor the
secular authorities: King Herod and Rome. He obeyed the Mosaic law and
even paid tribute. He told Nicodemus, an old man that he had to be born
again to be saved. Jesus meant born spiritually. Jesus preached that
this spiritual new baby would be then, dead to the world, living in the
world but not of it. He pointed out that worrying about the future was
not what a Christian would be doing because tomorrow has enough worries
to...

Let me go on record as saying I like Hyundai. For the
record, I personally own a Sonata, and it's a great car. That said, will
someone from Hyundai's advertising department kindly explain what you
were thinking when you authorized the latest commercial for the 2006
Sonata? "Rethink Everything" involves the concept of the Hyundai Sonata
turning the world upside down. You can access the commercial online with
this URL:

The spot starts out innocuously enough: a rather cliche scene of a
Sonata cruising along a city street. Quickly the spot kicks into high
gear: An office located in...

This is different. This post isn't about what I have

Crisis" in America and that this crisis continues to grow, each and
every day..regardless of whether they believe it or not! The only thing
that any of them believe in is: Our Government. I would like to give you
the whole story, how I have tried and finally given up, given up in
trying to convince my family, my loved ones that we are at...

(08-16) 13:55 PDT Turner, Maine (AP) -- Residents are
wondering if an animal found dead over the weekend may be the mysterious
creature that has mauled dogs, frightened residents and been the subject
of local legend for half a generation. The animal was found near power
lines along Route 4 on Saturday, apparently struck by a car while
chasing a cat. The carcass was photographed and inspected by several
people who live in the area, but nobody is sure exactly what it is.
Michelle O'Donnell of Turner spotted the animal near her yard about a
week before it was killed....

People on a northern Manitoba reserve are avoiding a
lake after three sled dogs were gutted amid reports that a strange
creature is on the loose. Chief Joe Dantouze of the Northlands First
Nation in Lac Brochet said Thursday that he had never seen an animal
kill in the manner that befell the dogs. The dogs were found gutted on a
island in nearby Reindeer Lake on Sunday morning and another four dogs
have gone missing. Manitoba conservation officials have been looking
into the matter and have taken the bodies of the dead dogs for analysis.

Over the last few years we've shown you pictures of a
mysterious dog-like creature found in East Texas' woods. This weekend,
two brothers were out hunting squirrels when they were surprised by a
very similar animal. The brothers shot it and killed it. It has leathery
skin, long teeth, and hind legs longer than its front legs. One of the
brothers, Kolby Russell, said this isn't his first run in with the
creature. "I had chased it a couple times earlier, about a month ago,
and my friends didn't believe me. I finally showed them and they did."
So is...

carnivore on Borneo, the first such discovery on the wildlife-rich
Indonesian island in over a century. Swiss-based environmental group WWF

looks like a cross between a cat and a fox, in the dense, central
mountainous rainforests of Borneo.

SARPY COUNTY, Neb. -- Last week, two goats were found
strangled, drained of blood, then positioned inside their pen. The
Nebraska Humane Society's initial analysis was that the killings may
have been performed by a cult, Omaha television station KETV reported.
Investigators said this week that they need new leads in the killings.
The goats' owners were devastated by the deaths. They said the goats
were family pets. Beth Roth said her four daughters played with the
goats nearly every day for the year that they'd been caring for them.
Last year, they even posed the goats for the family's...

El Chupacabra? - Coleman man kills chicken slayer! By
Sidney Levesque / Reporter-News Staff Writer August 25, 2005 COLEMAN -
Was the strange creature recently killed in this West Texas town a
bloodsucking monster called a chupacabra? Or a coyote with a bad case of
mange? Whatever it is, it's causing a big stir in Coleman, a city of
5,100 or so people 52 miles south of Abilene. In fact, the last time an
animal caused this much talk was five years ago, when a Dallas-area
hunter shot and killed a monkey on a nearby ranch. ''That was no
organ-grinder...

of goats. Reggie Lagow set a trap last week after a number of his
chickens and turkeys were killed. What he found in his trap was a mix
between a hairless dog, a rat and a kangaroo. The mystery animal has
been sent to Texas Parks and Wildlife in hopes of determining what...

Those searching for Bigfoot and other unusual creatures
gathered Saturday for the fourth annual Southern Crypto Conference at
the Montgomery County Fairground's Horseshoe Club. "About 250 people
gathered today to talk about the pursuit for unknown creatures," said
conference organizer Chester Moore. "We think this is important because
(cryptozoology) is the forefront of zoology. This is about the pursuit
of unknown animals and it's becoming very popular." And what crypto
conference would be complete without Bigfoot. "I'm obsessed with
Bigfoot," said Ella Howard, of East Bernard. "They practically own East
Texas." There was a Bigfoot sighting 15 miles Southeast of...

County Judge Jerome Nadler set bail at $500,000. She is due back in

and grand larceny. Ayala, who has maintained her innocence, faces a

A rancher in Elmendorf, southeast of San Antonio, found

something was up when his chickens started disappearing. At one point,
35 were gone in just one day. Macanally finally shot and killed the

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - As it turns out, volatile chemicals
from a top secret experiment aboard the space shuttle Columbia were
probably not responsible for producing some kind of mutant killer
deer-dog that is running around deep East Texas sucking the blood from
goats. Anyone who logs onto the Internet and runs a Google Image search
for "Coyote" and "mange" may see some animals that look surprisingly
like the strange looking "Pollok Mystery Beast" killed Friday in
Angelina County. But SFA forestry professor and deer expert Dr. James
Kroll didn't need the World Wide Web to help him identify the

Strange corpse has some muttering the word ‘chupacabra’
- 2/10/2005 By: Reed Upton Some New Mexicans say it’s the weirdest thing
they’ve ever seen: a creature – and that’s the best word to describe it
– found on Albuquerque’s West Mesa. To some, it’s simply intriguing. To
others, it’s downright scary. The creature belongs to Robert Wheeler.
“It was found out on the West Mesa,” says Wheeler. ”A friend of mine was
out there shooting and kicked it out of the dirt.” “It looks like a
gargoyle” said Wheeler’s friend Steve Garcia. “It has these sponge-like
lips.” Garcia and Wheeler...

For education and discussion only. Not for commercial
use. MEXICO CITY -- Even as swarms of monarch butterflies flutter back
to the United States from their winter home in Mexico, another
less-loved but equally large migration has winged its way north: tens of
millions of Mexican bats. U.S. schoolchildren fascinated by the
orange-and-black butterflies might not go quite so gaga over a
wrinkle-nose little flying rodent like the Mexican free-tail bat, now
summering in caves and under bridges in a broad stretch of the Southwest
from California to Louisiana. But the bats' migration is perhaps just as
endangered as the...
